TEACHING ASSISTANT
SET Grade: Grade 5 SCP 16 – 20
Salary: £19,698 – 20,903 FTE salary per annum
Allowance:SEN Allowance £1,324 FTE per annum
Actual Salary: £17,093 - £18,138 pro rata salary per annum (+ £1,148 SEN Allowance pro rata per annum)
Hours: 37 hours per week Monday – Friday, 38 weeks term time only + 5 Inset days (39 weeks per year)
Contract type: Fixed term until 31st August 2022
Start date: ASAP

Brookfields School provides a quality, inclusive and specialist education for pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties and autistic spectrum disorders.
 
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant to work with SEND pupils in our school. The successful candidate will work under the instruction/guidance of teaching staff to undertake work/care/support programmes, to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.
We would welcome candidates who can demonstrate the following:
• NVQ 3 or equivalent in teaching assistance
• Some experience of working with children with SEND
• The ability to work effectively within a team environment, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities
• The ability to promote a positive ethos and role model positive attributes
• Good level of interpersonal, numeracy and literacy skills
• An understanding of Safeguarding procedures and is able to promote the welfare and safety of children that they come into contact with
